Islamic ShariaIslamic Sharia or better known as Islamic laws is defined very clearly in the Quran and Hadith.  The rules and laws defined by Islam hold immense importance. These rules and guidelines were defined 1400 years ago and are still applicable in today’s world.  The Quran and the Hadith are the most authentic sources to understand Islamic Sharia in detail. If the Quran does not define a law in detail then the Hadith would support it and would give all the required information. These two authentic sources form the base to lead the life according to Islamic principles.

As mentioned above, Islam has defined laws for every aspect of life.  It has also given detailed account of marriage and divorce.  Matrimonial laws are defined so that it becomes easier for every Muslim to lead a disciplined life. For a marriage to take place, it is important to gather two witnesses who would be present at the proceedings. A document is created for the marriage to take place. The document is carefully drafted and read thoroughly so that everything is properly stated.  The bride and the groom sign these papers and are declared husband and wife.

Next the married life is discussed which brings a number of responsibilities.  The husband is given one rank up in order to regulate discipline in the house. He is the one who would provide his family with food, shelter and clothes. As he has such a big responsibility so Allah has given him some additional powers.  The wife looks after the children and the house.  She is not to be treated as a maid but given utmost respect and honor. Both the roles of husband and wife are defined clearly in the Quran and Hadith. Husband and wife are both companions through thick and thin and have to bear hardships and rejoice good events together.
